I am Rachel Jones, Arizona State Representative for Legislative District 17, in Pima and Pinal Counties.
Welcome to my new SubStack journal, entitled Reclaiming the Copper Dome. For those of you joining me on this journey from outside my home of Arizona, the Copper Dome is in reference to the unique top of the Arizona state capitol building. If you’ve paid attention for the past four years, even before the 2020 “election,” Arizona has been a hub for many negative political developments, including the mismanagement of COVID, which destroyed small business, impacted childhood development with devastating consequences, and brought about many new and unacceptable governing standards going forward.
Why am I branching out and becoming one of few elected officials using SubStack as a main channel of communicating with constituents and other citizens? Because I’m sick of cringeworthy, canned political e-mails that start off, “Dear ____” and in some cases, are obviously not written by the individual on the campaign banner. This platform will allow me to organize my thoughts most pertinently according to the business of the day and present meaningful content in many formats.
In this journal, you’ll read plenty about how the lobbyists are running the show in Phoenix, with enough longevity and slack to “wait out” those legislators (like yours truly) who will either be drawn (redistricted) out, termed out, or in some cases, tossed aside by the party apparatus. My own two eyes have seen campaign contribution checks at the ready for members of the political establishment in both parties, but not a nickel for those who stand for what is right – like the members of the Arizona Freedom Caucus, of which I am a proud member.
We are ready for the Robson and McCain machines to come after us, even though we boast some of the highest marks for defending liberty not just in Arizona, but nationwide. I didn’t step away from my life to raise my right hand and serve as an instrument of corrupt lobbying organizations and political puppet masters. I came to stand in defense of the Constitution and return the power of government to the people.
Please share this journal with your concerned friends and family, whether they live in my district or not. I plan to keep things lively and give you a greater insight into legislative duty than you’ll find anywhere else.
Rachel
Those who stand up for what is right don’t get $100 handshakes. My seat in LD-17 is one of the most highly sought after seats for Democrats in 2024, and I need your help. Please consider making a contribution to my campaign at this link. Thank you!

Good / God wins this time.
The evil / the veil that has protected their corruption is fallen. Millstones await.
God’s grace, God’s presents/presence assures our best.
You would have more credibility if you actually showed us your policy proposals and voting record.
